Visiting The Eiteljorg Museum

The Eiteljorg Museum in Indianapolis, Indiana, is one of the best Western and Native American art museums in the country. It opened in 1989 and is the only museum of its kind in the Midwest. Its permanent collection includes works from Andy Warhol, N.C. Wyeth, T.C. Cannon, and Ferederic Remington to name a few. Its collection of contemporary Native art has been ranked among the world’s best.

Tours

Museum tours are free with admission. Your tour guide will give you a deeper understanding of the museum’s collections and broaden your knowledge of the West and Native America covering two floors and eight major galleries.

Note: Reservations should be made three weeks in advance to guarantee a tour.

Special Exhibit

Opening on November 23, Jingle Rails: The Great Western Adventure is a model train wonderland that goes through a miniature landscape of Indianapolis and national parks of the West. On view until January 20, 2020.

Dining

The Eiteljorg Museum Café is open any time the museum is open. Enjoy freshly prepared meals inside the café or outside on the patio overlooking the White River State Park. The menu includes salads, sandwiches, and quesadillas.

Bonus: The museum sits in White River State Park, home to the Indiana State Museum, NCAA Hall of Champions, Indianapolis Zoo, and White River Gardens.
